chocolate peanut butter yummm
hi, i know, haven't been blogging for a while now hehe. Been busy lately, well not busy doing house chores or anything but pretty much been sewing and sewing and sewing lately hihihi. My other half is very very very nice to me lately, must I say I was really spoiled by him. He bought me an Ipad as a surprise last week so I have been pretty much dwelling on that gadget. It was not able to be jailbreak (yet) but I don't really care somehow, that gadget was perfect for me. It is sooooo light so it feels like nothing inside my handbag and I can browse every single blogs I love everywhere, so yayness!!! So because I was so in love with this case, I was so determined to make the case/cover for this new gadget of mine. After doing some browsing thru etsy, I finally decide to try to make and sew my own case (it cost quiet exxy in etsy and then tax n yada yada hence "u can make your own ipad case" mode is on). I got the idea from Elizabeth David Design on etsy and here is her version of ipad case

and my version of the case...

I could definitely say I failed in making this case because the ipad didn't fit quiet nice in the case. I got better ideas for the next ipad case, but unfortunately I dont have enough cotton batt and etc and the fabric as well as supply store are close now due to Ied holiday, so I have to wait patiently.

and you know what I went to Aksara last week as well and boy ph boy I bought the Print and Pattern Book by Bowie Style from print and pattern blog and I must say, I never love a book that much for a while now. Everything inside that book amazed me and by amazed me I mean seriously amazed me, they have bold colors, great great illustration and all so it's a very-very good source for inspiration =) highly recommend this book!

Another highlight is I met lia from lia's space and she is berry berry niceeeeee. I love her instantly, she is so warm and informative must I say hehehe and to top it all she gave me my very own diaper pouch with extra pressie along with it (some of her gocco print cards and a patchwork pouch), see now why I lurf herr? hihihiii...
I also got some books from kinokuniya thanks to my hubs. He really does support me in this new hobby of mine, thank you dear, it means a lot for me =)
Due to the too yellowish lighting in my apt, I will take pics of lia's pouch and books from hubs tomorrow, adioss

way too short trip
Been telling you that couple of weeks before I visited Dubai thanks to my dearie. The weather sure is not friendly at all, it was 45 degrees during day time and night time at about 40 degrees. Not to mentioned, we went there during the first days of fasting so most restaurants are closed during the day and to eat in public is a very no no thing there. Hence, I enjoyed the trip so much, Dubai is one hell of a city with its famous buildings and architecture. Most buildings projects stop there unfortunately due to the crisis, but they say hopefully in these couple of years they will continue those projects again.
Some of the pics during our trip, this is the world's tallest building, called Burj Khalifah

in front of it there's a singing fountain like the one in Bellagio, Vegas

the famous hotel Burj Al Arab. This hotel is soo fascinating, I was so lucky to be able to stay here for a night. They got the most amazing idea in building this hotel, let alone this hotel stands on an artificial island. The design and interior of the room is very very interesting and all the equipment in the room are connected by voice command, speaking bout cool ey? The King of Dubai certainly know how to pamper himself!

the chairs that I wish I could carry home with me...

and to top it all, Dubai got their own GOLD VENDING MACHINE!!! And it really do makes gold in plates coz Mister feels this is a must try machine and so he did and it actually gave us a plate of gold in certain grams n ounces you required. I wonder how long will this kinda machine will last in Indonesia...

light at the end of the tunnel
heyyaa, feels like ages I haven't been writing here... Well things are pretty much crazy in my life lately. After that short trip to Dubai last Monday, I sorta broke my outer side water. So we rushed to the hospital worrying that it might actually be the water that is broken. But thankfully its not. Apparently outside your water in your womb, there are two other layers of water to protect it, God is indeed one truly magnificent maker don't you think? If one of the that two layers is broken, it's OK coz in time, the tear will heal itself and protect your actual water again.
After that incident, been pretty much starting to sew and sew and sew. I went to Passer Baru to buy some cotton materials and I went overboard! I bought fabrics in lotsa price range, from the cheapest one I can found in pasar Atom to the lovely Ratu Busana store. Here are the pics of my fabric findings. So so thrilled with the polkadots, stars, flags, well basically ALL hihihii...

My first project is making a baby's bib. Got the tutorial from Lia, this very sweet and creative mother of two girls. She really really amazed me, and turns out I kinda know her husband from high school era hehe. Thank you so much Lia for the pattern n tutorial, I definitely definitely need to practice more in making bibs. Here's my first bib and according to me not quite realistic to use in real life tho somehow, so so different from Lia's bib for sure hahaha. Ya well...

After bib then I make some pouches, the first attempt is the pear pouch, still from Lia's tutorial the gift bag applique and again, hers look soo put together n mine, again, yah well...

Made two other pouches one for my nephew and one for my hair straightener that is abandoned by me for ages. Didn't get the chance to take pics of it tho. Gave this one pouch to my mom for her blackberry.
And yesterday after browsing cottonier's site in facebook and looking at this pretty pretty oh so pretty matrioshka dolls, I got the idea to make a plushy for my dearest nephew Ndu who is crazy with all sorta dinosaurus things rite now. Hopefully he"ll loves it. Kisses Ndu, I love every bits of you much much much!!!

the oh so pretty matrioshka dolls, hint husband hint!
and my dino/camel (unta) 'donta' for Ndu. Somehow I felt this more like a camel rather than a dino, hehe hopefully Ndu wont realize it and still thinks its a dino...

pale pink rose syrup
Finally today I get to stay at home, not doing errands, not going places to pick up jeff"s stuff, just stay at home peacefully. But hey its not jeff if he let me in my peace hehe. Like I always said tho he is in the other part of the world (algeria/jordan or any of those arabic countries) he manage to give me stuff to do at home. First I gave a call to hotels.com, their toll free number is actually working fortunately today, the sales people who is answering is Chinese and doesn't really have a clear pronunciation. Ended up getting the same info as I get from their website. Then his nex-5, my gowd the never ending battle between me and the sales people in order to get them just to deliver the package to my parents' so that I don't have to go all the way to Fatmawati. This one, I win the battle! Wohoo! Camera will be delivered first thing tomorrow.
I must say I didn't have a very good mood today. So I decided to make myself happy by making my self my favorite kinda drink. Rose syrup, nyumm (forgot to take the picture unfortunately) and at nite you know what I did? I finally made an attempt to make my first ever pouchhh! After days drooling and eyeing and admiring those creative blogs from dreamesh, lia's space n all, I got the urge to try to make my own pouch since I have this bulk of leftovers materials and the sewing machine is just getting rotten and dusty on the table. So here's my first pouch, I swear in reality the pouch look much much worst. If the pouch looks good, it must have been the illusion that is created by my lovely G11.

and these are the materials that I bought during last visit to Passer Baru, pretty aren't they?
